Dialogue Videos

In my role in editing dialogue videos for social media, I crafted elevated clip pulls from the film, carefully selecting engaging moments to highlight key conversations. Drawing inspiration from the film's trailer, I designed these clips as compelling social media spots to capture the audience's attention and drive engagement.

GIFs

I created GIFs from the film's trailer, repurposing dynamic moments to use across social media for audience engagement. These GIFs were designed to boost interaction and enhance the film's online presence by offering shareable, eye-catching content.

Lincoln Center Internship Trailer

My intern partner Mohamed Mohamedy and I collaborated to produce and edit this recruitment trailer, which led to an influx of CUNY and public college applicants. We organized and filmed the interviews, with Mohamed handling the assembly of interview segments, while I managed color correction, sound editing, music selection, graphic animations, and the addition of b-roll and clips. The project underscored the importance of communication and seeking feedback, and I’m proud of how it effectively reached and engaged prospective students from public colleges.

Clip from BTS Livestreams Recap Video

I edited and created the graphics for this video to showcase the audience reach and the hard work of the Video Team behind the live-streamed performances. We livestream these performances to ensure accessibility, allowing people to experience them even if they can’t attend in person. The video highlights the dedication of the team behind the scenes and the production efforts that go into ensuring everything runs smoothly.

English with an Accent Trailer

I edited a promotional trailer for English with an Accent, a hybrid dance-theater performance. The trailer seamlessly blended an interview with the artist and rehearsal footage, merging the artist's Spanish dialogue with the expressive movement to capture the essence of the performance.

Personal Projects

I wrote and directed this piece as part of my second assignment in a film production course, using 16mm film to capture the intimate dynamics between two characters. One is on a desperate quest for connection, while the other drifts through life. Their unexpected encounter, free from the influence of modern technology, explores the serendipity of human interaction. The piece reflects my early exploration of character-driven storytelling and emotional depth.

My first assignment in an advanced film production course involved defining the Central Park Conservatory Garden as a transformative space. When I initially scouted the location, the garden felt stark and desolate. However, on a sunny day, it came alive, revealing vibrant beauty and energy. I intentionally contrasted the starkness and vibrancy through color grading and the inclusion of people and wildlife. This project not only demonstrates my evolving visual storytelling but also my ability to capture the profound impact of light and atmosphere on a space.

For this project, I chose to define the Hunter College Pool as my subject, exploring the space over two carefully planned sessions—one capturing its serene emptiness, and the other filled with life, including a directed performance by my friend. This was my directorial debut in short film production, where I experimented with sound design, particularly in a scene where a character dives into the pool. I’m especially proud of the seamless continuity achieved through muffled sound effects. To elevate the visual experience, I took a creative risk by submerging my iPhone in a ziplock bag to capture striking underwater footage, which added a unique perspective.

As the DP and co-director of my final project for this production course, I worked with 16mm film to create a visually compelling piece focused on precision and technical mastery. We prioritized maintaining a sharp focus throughout, addressing challenges from earlier projects. The narrative follows a character on a journey of discovery, led by the mystery of an elusive sound. This project showcases my growth in visual composition, camera work, and co-direction, blending technical skills with a strong, immersive narrative.
