Lincoln Center Internship Trailer

I produced and edited this recruitment trailer along with my intern partner Mohamed Mohamedy. We organized and shot the interviews. He pieced together the interview parts and I edited the colors and sound, added music, animated the graphics, and added the b-roll and clips. This was a good lesson in keeping people in the loop and seeking out feedback but overall proud of the project and hope it reaches prospective applicants.

Personal Projects

I wrote and directed this piece. It was the second assignment in my first film production course. The intent was to bring two characters together, while one is desperately searching for a connection the other is just cruising through life. Circumstances bring them together, without the need for an app. Shot on 16mm.

The assignment was to define a space and I chose the Hunter College Pool. It was shot on two occasions, one day when it was empty and another when people were using it, including my friend that I had directed. This was my first time ever making a short. I got to play around with sound design as well during the jumping into the pool scene. That is my favorite because of the continuity and the muffled sound. I deviated from the assignment and used my iPhone in a ziplock bag to submerge it underwater and get that shot.

This was my first assignment in my more advanced film production class and it brought me back to my first film assignment ever. The space I chose to define was the Central Park Conservatory Garden. I wanted to show how it completely transforms on a sunny day. When I had initially gone to location scout, it seemed very barren and cold but once the sun came out it was like a whole new place. The juxtaposition is seen through the coloring of the two parts and the presence of people (and critters).

This project was the final assignment for my first production course. We prioritized maintaining everything in focus which is something we struggled with in the first two. I was the DP and co-director, shot on 16mm film. The intention of the short was to take the character on a journey while they look for the source of a sound.
